Lakefront Utilities Inc. offers charging free

COBOURG -- Lakefront Utilities Inc. has unveiled a new electric car charging station, available for the public to use while visiting downtown Cobourg.

Located beside the utility’s offices at 207 Division St. in Cobourg, the Sun Country Highway charger is available for drivers parked in one of two electric vehicle designated parking spots.

The energy is provided by Lakefront Utilities free, with the station being sponsored by CamTran and HD Supply, with a maximum of four hours of charging allowed.

Representatives from HD Supply, CamTran, the Lakefront Utilities board of directors and the Town of Cobourg were on hand for the unveiling.

A second charging station, for use by hotel guests only, is at the Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn and Convention Centre on 930 Burnham St. in Cobourg.
